I love the mysteriousness of the mangroves. There is something about them that attracts me and frightens me at the same time. I grew up in the mountains of Oaxaca and never saw mangroves until I traveled to Borneo. I was astounded by their shapes. The movement of their roots makes them seem like welcoming monsters, ready to embrace me, and I can´t help but shoot them.

I was writing about these mangroves today! They’re so creepy and lovely at the same time. Gorgeous. Could stare at this photo for ages.

Excellent b/w shot! Best regards, Andrei.
