Pfeiffer Beach Wedding Photos - Big Sur, California
On our last day in Big Sur, Sarah, Elena and I visited Pfeiffer Beach, a stunning and rugged stretch of Pacific coastline. The surf here crashes into cliffs and surges through a natural rock opening called “The Keyhole.” The evening we visited, there were strong, frigid winds, so strong we had to lean into them to make our way down the beach. The wind carried gusts of spray from the waves across the water and blew sand in big swirls. But this didn’t deter a young, giddy Chinese couple visiting from Beijing. I spotted them taking photos with their friends, and the wedding photographer in me could not resist the opportunity to shoot in such a stunning location. I walked over and asked if I could take a few shots. I was thrilled that they were ecstatic and eager to pose. What results is a small transpacific love story (and an invitation to come visit Beijing!) I hope that this photo shows the thrill and the beauty of both these young lovers and this location, which Henry Miller called “the face of the earth as the Creator intended it to look.”
Congratulations to Fiona and Tony!
Pfeiffer Beach is located in the heart of Big Sur, California.
